my favorite thing is when you pick up an animal and you look them in the eyes and you can tell nothings going on behind them. you look at them and theres just elevator music. stupid animals really are like the fucking best, the lights are on but no one is home
i like elephant seals IN THEORY cos they look so goofy but every time i watch any documentary about them all they do is fuck and fight extremely graphically and disgustingly to the death so i’m deeply afraid of them
I just googled “why do elephant seals fight” and got a video of one bashing himself in slow, rhythmic, dead-eyed crashes against a truck only slightly larger than itself while said owner just stood to the side, a defeated, perplexed look on his face
Ok so I’ve been playing for 18 years and i’m a string teacher. Can i just say how IMPORTANT it is for young kids to see a BLACK, MALE-PRESENTING PERSON playing, nae, SHREDDING on a violin? I’ve know maybe 5 black people who played stringed instruments throughout my schooling and teaching (predumably because i’m an upper middle class white woman). In districts where the population is predominantly black, funding is always low, so the instruments are crappy. Kids quit, or the program is dismantled. I’ve seen very few professional string players who are black.
Obviously there are black string players. We just don’t see them because they “don’t look like” string players.
This person is the real deal. They were clearly classically trained, and seems to have some fiddle training as well. How cool is that?
Separation of young children, in fact any children, from their carer is
child abuse, and I would love to see those who initiated and implemented
this policy charged with this offence.
We were never supposed to know about this. The Trump administration pretended there was no “child separation policy” until NYT reporters broke the story (after weeks of denial on many levels of the government, and high-up officials completely denying the # of children taken).
Children were taken from motel rooms without the parents knowing why or what was going on. Children and parents were asked by ICE/border agents to take pictures together, and were then asked to stand several feet apart for separate photographs, and then the children were taken with no explanation. There was no reason given during these separations because there was no official policy and nothing documented.
The reason many families will never be reunited is because the unique ID # of each family, given as they first crossed into the border, was deleted and changed after the children were taken. Those children were reassigned ID #s as unaccompanied children after they were forcibly separated from their families. As in, the system shows that all of these children crossed into the border alone, and there is no official record of who their families are. Again, this was done without any official policy in place.
After all of this came to light: that’s when the Trump administration announced their “zero tolerance policy” at the border. For them, if everything had gone according to plan, nobody would know about this. Many families will never be reunited because that was never supposed to be an option to begin with, this was supposed to happen with no official evidence.

Anonymous asked: are your custom stuffed cats still available? also, how durable are the chewable ears? i'm afraid i'd bite a hole in them
Yes they are still available, though there’s currently a bit of a wait because I’m trying to figure out how to ship them without it costing an arm and a leg. And I’m not sure if the ears could get a hole in them, when I tested them originally I bit as hard as I could on one and it didn’t even dent, but I don’t know what long-term use could do.
